DEATH, THE MORBID VISITOR!

Death came to visit us after several years
It trampled upon our healed souls,
It trod upon the bed of long dried tears;

Death knocked gently on our door
It came in disguise,
It shattered our happiness into smithereens
It cut us down to size;

Death came piggy-backed
On a seasonal flu,
It caught us unawares
It hit us without a clue;

Death soft-footed into our home
As a short term visitor,
It played with our little angel
A friend it found in her;

Death made a sharp, swift exit
It bid us a hurried goodbye,
It snuffed out the life from a dear one
And left us with a lifetime to cry;

The little time death stayed with us
It messed up with our mind,
It looted the treasures of joyful living
Making peace so difficult to find;

Death robbed us of our dancing shoes
It took away our singing voice,
Heartache, misery, pity, dejection
Left each of these as our only choice;

Death see-sawed in our heart
Swinging between hope and fear,
It plucked away what we loved the most
When a minute back they breathed so near;

Death put up with us
Like a difficult guest,
It brought gifts of dread and distress
And left them pounding in our chest;

Death punished us for believing
From our loved ones we’d never part,
In the game of faith and despair
It dealt us the gloomiest card;

Death snatched away what belonged to us
Carrying it to a land beyond,
It saddened the place in our heart
That was filled with feelings so fond;

In spite of being unwelcome
Death behaved well with us,
It went away with composure and grace
It left without much of a fuss;

Now, the million pieces of our bereft life
We faintly attempt to pick,
Death should you choose to visit us again
Take us away with you this time
And do be quick.

78 Days today!

The problem is she was never just a dog; she was my daughter; never a 'for-fun-Pet' but an integral part of the family, perhaps the most important, most kind and lovable.

So how does one get over losing Princess Cinderella. I wish death was like a cosmic vacation from where loved ones eventually returned, to spend the rest of the days in each other's company and bid adieu together from this world for the eternal journey into the next.

WISHES!

May you wake up to possibilities
May hope be your bedfellow as you turn in each night

May you greet all seasons with as much enthusiasm and optimism
Seeing the beauty in their uniqueness through the window of your soul

May you be as enamoured by the colours of the rainbow
As the stark, monochromatic impressions of black and white

May flowers give you company
And thorns teach you everlasting lessons

May happiness rest in your heart
And pain find a temporary abode in your mind
Leaving behind fruits of wisdom and compassion while departing

May the family bring you contentment
And solitude enchantment, nudging you to get closer to yourself

May you travel wide and far through the world
Rejoicing in the richly different shades of cultures that abound

May you take a deep journey through your own consciousness and the subconscious
Mining the pearls that are locked in the shells of your conscience

May you laugh wholeheartedly at the silliest of jokes
And cry copiously at the smallest of hurt you see inflicted on others

May you aim for the sky
But remain grounded in humility

May you engage in profound dialogue with the greatest minds
Yet tumble in sand with the smallest child

May you be loaded with wishes of greatness, goodness and the fine pleasures of life
The greed for stuff, the desires and wants may never weigh you down

May you extend your hand in help to man and animal
May you repay your gratitude to nature and environment

May you stay close to God
Yet never be defeated by the smallness of religiosity.

Crimes you may commit!

 Beat drums
Beat the blues

Kill boredom
Kill anger, squashing its ugly head in one forceful stomp

Swat the fly on the wall
Engage in that very instant of your life with enthusiasm and energy

Slap away listlessness
Slap yourself into being aware and receptive, of the temptations of every waking moment

Murder hatred, in cold blood
Snuff the life out of jealous intent, without any remorse

Cheat yourself into happiness
With sunny visions, thoughts of good times

Rob somebody off sadness
With a smile, a kind gesture, a gift

Steal a thought
Through the window of your mind, into the pleasantness of your past

Steal furtive glances, with a loved one
Across a room full of people, known and unknown

Steal a kiss
On a busy street, in a rushed corridor, in the solitude of your room

Strangle the last breath out of disillusionment
Wake up, rise up, face up; meet life in its corner, on your terms

Slaughter the monster that resides within
There is too much goodness in you not to get
the better of all demons inside and out

Get intoxicated on the opiate of pure, unadulterated, unconditional love
Let passion be your poison, perseverance your innate power

Hate laziness, indifference, depravity of mind, the low depths of human greed,
the high price of hubris; hate them all
Resent bitterness and rancour, mash out malice and barbarity from your very being

Shoot a mental picture of contentment, bliss and genuine kindness
Tuck it away in the indelible albums of your mind

Shoot yourself in the foot for a stupid step you take
A silly decision you make

Gamble away the sources of your sorrow
Trade in the stuff that brings you joy, real joy that can only reside in the bottom of your heart

Conspire with the Universe to make it an ideal world; or at the very least a happy, peaceful one
For boy and beast, nymph and nature, man and woman alike!
