L. Aruna DhirL.Aruna Dhir has recently taken a sabbatical after holding the position of the Director – Public Relations at The Imperial New Delhi. Prior to her tenure at The Imperial, Aruna was working with The Oberoi, New Delhi heading their Public Relations & Communications Department for a period of three and a half years.

Aruna’s hotel experience includes handling the Marketing Communications and Public Relations portfolio for Hyatt Regency Delhi before her association with the Oberoi Group. L. Aruna Dhir’s work experience also includes a four year long stint with the Australian High Commission in the capacity of Media Relations Officer. Aruna has been engaged in freelance work for Doordarshan – the Indian National Television, All India Radio and Times FM.

L. Aruna Dhir has been the first–ever Creative Writer for the Indian greeting cards giant – ARCHIES Greetings and Gifts Ltd. While with the company she came out with several series of cards sold by her byline – an unprecedented feat that has not been repeated since. L. Aruna Dhir also dabbles in poetry and has to her credit two titles of Anthology published and marketed by Archies Greetings and Gifts Ltd.

Born at Allahabad in 1966, L. Aruna Dhir grew up and did her schooling in Dehradun. After being brought up in the sylvan surroundings of the verdant Doon valley, Aruna chose to make Delhi her second home.

An alumnus of the Jawaharlal Lal Nehru University, she began her career as a freelance journalist in 1987 and has published her articles in major Indian newspapers like The Times of India, The Hindustan Times, The Pioneer, Indian Express and
magazines like Femina and Frontline.

A public relations and communications professional, L. Aruna Dhir topped at the All- India level in her PG Diploma in Public Relations and Advertising. In the summer of 2001, L. Aruna Dhir represented India to a select group of opinion-makers in the
United States, as a Cultural Ambassador under the aegis of The Rotary Foundation. And in 2003 Aruna participated in the IX the Commonwealth Study Conference held in Australia.

L. Aruna Dhir’s forte is corporate communications, brand – building, image enhancement, creative writing and lateral thinking applications to issues management. In her official and personal capacity L. Aruna Dhir has worked on several social awareness projects – People for Animals, Earthquake Relief, National Blind Association, PETA, Friendicoes to name a few.
