Look who's laughing now!

Sometimes, I see the Laughing Dove sitting on the parapet just outside my bedroom window. Then there are times, I catch her or another from her species perched outside the French Window.

Each time, she is close to the Bird Feeder wishing to put some grains into her belly.

And every time her gaze has fallen on me too, as I have stood across trying to get a good shot of her.

She looks, she hides, she reappears, she throws a quizzical glance at me and we both go about our different games.

"The Laughing Dove’s song resembles a human laugh. This variable and unobtrusive phrase of 6-8 soft notes “cou ku RU kuru-koou” can be heard all year round, including at night, but less frequently.

The Laughing Dove feeds on the ground where it walks easily and rapidly. It forages near shrubs and may take fruits and seeds from plants.

This dove is usually seen alone or in pairs, or in small groups of 3-4 birds, but they can gather in large flocks, up to several hundred at water and food sources." - from http://www.oiseaux-birds.com/card-laughing-dove.html

What a beautifully painted body the Laughing Dove has! With each of His creations, God seems to surpass His own talent!
