PAIN

Pain spears through your heart

crushing it into a million pieces

that would take you a

lifetime to pick after.

Pain pierces through your soul

shaking your belief and your convictions

leaving you trembling and terrified

fearful of even aspiring for happiness.

Pain tears you apart

changing you forever

in such a sad, sordid way

that you never go back to what you were.

Pain loves drama

breaking you down into

a pool of tears,

which you find impossible to swim through.

Pain isolates you,

not just from others

but also the consciousness

of your own being.

Pain craves attention

needing to be

fed on sorrow

and thoughts so dark

that no light

could pass through.

Pain is selfish,

it is self-centered

it thinks only about itself

and never about you;

pushing you

to pay obeisance

at its heartless altar!
